Privacy Policy
SpeechCue is developed and operated by Shanghai Jiamei Software Development Co., Ltd. SpeechCue is designed to keep your scripts and voice data on your device. This policy explains what data we access, how we use it, and your choices. We do not sell personal or sensitive data.
AI and Data Disclosure
SpeechCue uses on-device speech recognition algorithms to provide its core functionality. No audio data, script content, or transcripts are shared with, or processed by, any third-party Large Language Model (LLM) or generative AI service (such as OpenAI, Google, or Anthropic). Your data is never used to train any third-party AI models.
Information we process
- Scripts and notes: Stored locally on your device. You control export, sharing, or deletion.
- Microphone audio: Used only for real-time speech recognition and teleprompter syncing while you are actively prompting in the foreground. SpeechCue does not access the microphone in the background.
- Video recordings: Created only when you explicitly start video recording. Recordings are stored on your device and may be saved to your system gallery.
- Imported or exported files: Files you choose to import (DOCX/PDF/TXT/Markdown) or export (TXT/Markdown/PDF) stay on your device unless you share them.
- Support contact: If you email us, we receive your email address and the contents of your message to reply.
- Optional account data (if enabled): If the app provides sign-in or cloud sync features, we process account identifiers needed to authenticate and sync your scripts.
Permissions we request
SpeechCue requests permissions only when needed for core features, in context. We request microphone access for foreground speech recognition, camera/audio permissions for in-app video recording, media/file access for importing or exporting scripts and saving videos to gallery. If you deny a permission, you can still use the app with reduced functionality.
How we use data
We use data only to provide app functionality such as prompting, matching, auto-scrolling, recording, importing/exporting, and responding to support requests. If optional sign-in or cloud sync is available, data is used to authenticate you and sync your scripts across devices.
Analytics & Improvement
We use third-party analytics tools (e.g., PostHog) to collect anonymous usage data (e.g., feature usage frequency, crash reports) to help us improve the product. This data does not contain your personal information or script content.
Payments
SpeechCue offers in-app purchases handled by the app stores. We do not receive or store full payment card details. The stores may share purchase status or transaction identifiers so we can unlock features you buy.
Sharing
We do not sell personal or sensitive data. We only share data in the following cases:
- Service providers: If you enable sign-in or cloud sync, data may be processed by providers used for authentication or storage.
- User-initiated sharing: When you export or share scripts using your device's sharing tools.
- Legal reasons: If required by law or to protect rights and safety.
Data retention, account deletion, and erasure
Scripts remain on your device until you delete them. Exported files stay on your device storage under your control. Recorded videos remain local unless you share or delete them. Support emails are retained only as long as needed to respond. If cloud sync is enabled, synced data is deleted when you remove it or close your account. If you need to delete your account, you may use any of these methods: (1) In-app: go to Settings > Account and use the Delete Account option; (2) Web: visit the account deletion page; (3) Email: contact support@speechcue.pro. To protect account security, we may ask you to verify your identity with your login email, phone number, or user ID. We normally complete requests within 7 days. If some data must be retained for legal, accounting, or fraud-prevention reasons, we will explain what is retained and why.
Security
We use reasonable safeguards to protect data. Any network transmission uses modern cryptography (for example, HTTPS). Local data is stored on your device.
Prominent disclosure and consent
If SpeechCue ever needs to access or collect personal or sensitive data in a way that is not obvious to you, we will provide an in-app disclosure and obtain your consent before access begins, in line with app store policy requirements (such as Apple App Store or Google Play).
Children's privacy
SpeechCue is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes
If we update this policy, we will revise the effective date and post the new version on this page.
